Halloween decorations turn a boring cubicle into a one-of-a-kind office focal point. Whether you are participating in a cubicle-decorating contest or simply want to spruce up your workspace, there are several creative options. Always check on office policies when it comes to allowable decorations. Keep your cubicles neighbors in mind when selecting the decorations so that you don't distract them from their work.

    Spiderwebs

    • Spiderwebs are popular Halloween decorations. Artificial spiderwebs are available at any store that sells Halloween decorations. The white material stretches to create realistic spider webs. Stretch the spiderwebs across the top corners of the cubicle. If you have upper cabinets or shelves, stretch the spider webs from the under side down to the desk. You can also attach some to the cubicle walls. Add plastic spiders to the webs to complete the look.

    Pumpkins

    • Pumpkins offer another common symbol of Halloween that works well for the office. Paint designs on the pumpkins rather than carving them so they won't rot or stink up the office. Arrange several pumpkins of different sizes and designs on a shelf or empty desk space in your cubicle. Another option is to purchase an artificial jack-o-lantern with a light bulb inside. You can have the look of a jack-o-lantern without the mess of a real pumpkin. Gourds add a contrasting look to the pumpkin display.

    Garland

    • Halloween garlands work well in a cubicle. Look for Halloween or fall garlands at craft stores. You can also make your own garland. Cut Halloween shapes, such as pumpkins, bats, ghosts and witch hats, out of decorative paper. Glue them to a Halloween ribbon, spacing them evenly apart. Tack the Halloween garland along the top edge of the cubicle.

    Horror Films

    • Many classic horror films work well as inspiration for cubicle decorating. Hang posters from horror movies, such as "The Exorcist" and "Nightmare on Elm Street," on the walls of the cubicle. Display Halloween masks that relate to the movies. Recreate props from the movies to put on display in the cubicle. Check with your cubicle neighbors to make sure the horror film theme won't offend them before going with this option.

    Skeleton

    • A skeleton is another spooky Halloween decoration for the cubicle. Look for a model skeleton in the Halloween decoration section. Prop the skeleton up in a chair in the cubicle. Another option is to rest the arms of the skeleton over the top of the cubicle walls so it is looking out of your cubicle into the rest of the office. Check with your colleagues to make sure your skeleton isn't too distracting if you choose this option.
