How to Make Cork Boards for Kids

    • 1). Remove the picture from an old frame and find the dimensions. Use a ruler or look on the back panel to see if the dimensions are listed.

    • 2). Measure the dimensions of the frame onto a sheet of cork board. Draw straight lines with a ruler or another straight edge tool to create your cutting template. Cut the piece of cork board from the sheet.

    • 3). Cut a piece of bed sheet with your child's favorite design or cartoon characters on it. Place the cut piece of fabric over the front of the cork board and fasten in the back of the board with white craft glue. Pull the fabric taut in front to prevent any fold or uneven appearance.

    • 4). Tie several pieces of ribbon around the front of the cork board and fasten to the rear by tying a knot. This keeps the knot hidden and ensures the ribbon is pulled taut. The ribbons not only add visual appeal but, if pulled tightly enough, can hold pictures and other paper items slipped between them.

    • 5). Remove the front glass paneling from the picture frame and place the cork board inside the frame. Fasten the back paneling of the picture frame to secure the cork board in place.
