    Cleaning With Baking Soda

    • 1). Turn off any burners on your electric stove and let the burners cool completely. Raise up each burner to expose its drip pan underneath. Remove each drip pan by gently pulling the pan from under the burner.

    • 2). Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/2 gallon of hot water in a large pot. Wear rubber gloves to keep your hands dry. Stir the solution with a set of long-handled tongs.

    • 3). Place the drip pans in the solution and let them soak for 15 minutes. Use the tongs to remove the pans from the pot and place them in your kitchen's sink. The pans will be hot, so use caution when handling them.

    • 4). Scrub the drip pans gently, using a soft scrub brush under warm running water. Rinse the pans thoroughly to remove any remaining grime and solution.

    • 5). Dry the drip pans thoroughly with a soft cloth or rag.

    Cleaning With Vinegar

    • 1). Complete step 1 in the "Cleaning With Baking Soda" section.

    • 2). Mix 1/2 gallon of white vinegar and 1/2 gallon of hot water in a large pot. Wear rubber gloves to keep your hands dry. Stir the mixture with a set of long-handled tongs.

    • 3). Place the drip pans in the solution and let them soak for 30 minutes. Use the tongs to remove the pans from the pot and place them in your kitchen sink. The pans will be hot, so use caution when handling them.

    • 4). Fill the sink with 1 cup of dishwashing soap and 1 gallon of warm water. Scrub the drip pans gently, using a soft scrub brush. Rinse the pans thoroughly under warm running water to remove any remaining grime and solution.

    • 5). Dry the drip pans with a soft cloth or rag.
