    • 1). Dig two holes using a shovel or a posthole digger 24 inches deep and 12 inches wide, making sure the bottom of the hole is approximately 1-2 inches wider than the top. The distance between the posts should be 10 feet, depending on the available space in your yard. If the other end of the clothesline is a tree or fence, then you only need to dig one hole.

    • 2). Plant the T-shaped post in the hole making sure to keep it straight. Pour 1/3 of the cement over it, maintaining the balance of the post. Pour the rest of the cement mixture after you are satisfied that the posts are absolutely straight and that the cement previously poured has hardened a little. Make sure the area covered at the bottom of the hole is wider than the top so when the cement hardens it is strong enough to prevent movement.

    • 3). Place the wooden stakes around each of the holes at an equal distance and tie down the T-shaped posts using a rope. Tie them from holes already present in the posts to the end anchored in the stakes, so it does not sway back and forth in the wind.

    • 4). Tie in the vinyl/natural rope, pipe to pipe, after the cement has hardened completely, making sure it is taut and secure enough not to fall when clothes are hung on it. Make sure to use vinyl or natural rope; it does not bend or stretch when tension is exerted on it.
