An ovarian cyst surgery may be performed in such a way that only the cyst is removed and the ovaries are left intact.
This will be beneficial for women because they can still conceive a child if required.
This type of surgery is called cystectomy.
In certain cases the ovarian cyst surgery may require the ovaries also to be removed.
This does impact the women emotionally as she may be unable to have to child after the removal.
This type of surgery is normally done if the cyst keeps coming back again and again.
The best and least painful form of ovarian cyst surgery is done by having an incision in the abdomen.
Through this incision a miniature camera and light source are fitted inside the abdomen in order to facilitate the surgery.
This technique is called laparoscopic surgery.
Except for cases where a cyst can be life threatening a surgery should be avoided.
