How to Run an Ethernet Cable for Broadband

    • 1). Connect the Ethernet cable running into your room from the wall. The cable connects to the "Internet" WAN port on the back of the modem.

    • 2). Insert an Ethernet cable into one of the "Out" ports on the back of the broadband modem. Most Internet modems have around four different "Out" ports. It does not matter what connection you use.

    • 3). Plug the opposite end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the computer. When the cable connects properly a light appears next to the cord on the computer.

    • 4). Power on the broadband modem and wait for lights to finish blinking green. Once the lights are a solid green you have finished running the Ethernet cable.
