DIY Jewelry Organization
- 1). Sort through your jewelry and separate it into two categories. The first is costume jewelry that has no monetary value, and the second is real jewelry that is worth something. Costume jewelry that has sentimental value can be placed in the second category.
- 2). Within each of the first two categories, separate the jewelry by type, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets and earrings.
- 3). Pair the earrings, untangle any chains and repair other pieces of jewelry as necessary. This will help make organizing easier. A pin can be useful when getting knots out of chains.
- 4). Designate places to keep your jewelry to keep it organized. Each piece of jewelry that is worth something should be given its own box that is made for that type of jewelry, such as a necklace box. Costume jewelry can be placed inside a larger jewelry box that has sections for each type of piece. If you have a large jewelry collection, you might need several jewelry boxes.
