Many companies want to see a four-year degree or higher and they want to see Microsoft certifications and other such certifications to prove that you are fully qualified for any position that they may offer you.

There are three effective ways to find a job in information technology so that you can become employed faster.

Social media is absolutely free and allows you to find a job in IT by networking with people who you already know.
LinkedIn is perhaps the best social media platform for searching for a job because it is all about connecting with other professionals.
You can let others know that you are in search of a job and those who you are working within the past and those who may know your professional work can make recommendations to you.
Posting on Facebook and Twitter have never hurt either.
Recruiter.
You can use a recruiter from an IT recruiting company in order to find a job in IT.
They work with a variety of different company and know of all of the open positions within the area - and possibly outside of the area.
Once you turn in your resume, the recruiter will contact you and let you know what positions you qualify for.
If you are a good match, you may even be scheduled for a final interview with one of the hiring companies.
Hit the streets.
Another way to find a job in IT is simply to hit the streets.
You have to make a large number of resume copies and begin submitting them to each and every company around.
Don't assume that just because you can't find a listing of open jobs that they aren't hiring.
Many companies will accept a resume even if they aren't hiring in the hopes of finding someone who is better than what they have on staff now.
Ultimately, if you don't want to be searching for an IT job forever, you're going to have to use a combination of multiple ways of job searching.
You should be using social media, a recruiter, and hitting the streets.
You never know what is going to pan out for you and you want to have as many options as possible.
By covering various ways, you may end up with multiple job offers - and this allows you to choose the best offer.
Whenever a view company will fight over you, it can result in better pay and a larger compensation package.
Polish up your resume, make a list of all of the companies in your area that have IT positions and begin searching for an IT job.
