Having a germ control plan is essential while planning nursery for your baby.
Harmful germs from viruses, bacteria and diaper changing make your baby ill.
You can reduce these chances by keeping things disinfected and clean.
Chlorine is of one of the most popular disinfectant used often in the nursery.
It kills toughest germs such as staphylococcus, salmonella and E-coli.
Disinfecting Changing Table The changing table has to be regularly disinfected at the end of each day.
In case the changing table is used for more than one baby, then it has to be disinfected after each baby is changed.
To prevent germs from spreading in the nursery, make it a point to wash hands often every time while changing the new born's clothes.
If the nursery lacks a sink, use hand sanitizers.
Diaper Pail Disinfection Each day, the diaper pail has to be kept disinfected and cleaned.
After you empty the diaper pail, pour ¾ cup of bleach and a gallon of water into the bottom.
To wet all surfaces and sides, use a brush.
Let the surface remain wet for about 15 minutes.
Now rinse thoroughly and allow the air to dry.
Now place a good clean bag inside the diaper pail.
Thoroughly wash your hands.
Nursery Toys, Blankets, Bedding Sheets The bedding in the bassinet or baby's crib has to be changed on a daily basis.
After removing blankets and sheets, use a disinfectant wipe to wipe the crib mattress.
You will find numerous varieties of disinfectant wipes in departmental stores.
Don't forget to wipe the crib surfaces.
Disinfect and clean all toys used by the babies on a weekly basis using a strong bleach.
Now, soak the surface wet for about 12 minutes.
Air-dry after a thorough rinse.
Now, repeat the same procedure for other miscellaneous items.
