Before buying the card stock, check with the post office to verify the postage cost and to be sure the envelope is mailable. - 3). Measure the envelope to determine size of the card stock you'll need. Card stock should be slightly smaller. Anderson recommends 1/4 inch smaller on all sides to fit comfortably inside the envelope.
- 1). Determine the size of the finished invitation. Its width should be 1/4 inch less than the width of the envelope and the folded height should be 1/4 inch less than the height of the envelope. The unfolded height should be three times as long as the main section for pocket development.

Measure the paper to determine where it will need to be folded. The paper should be divided into three equal sections. The bottom two sections should then be equally divided again. Note tick marks at the spots that will need to be folded. - 4

Using a ruler and exacto knife, score across the lines you have made, taking care to not cut through the paper. Scoring makes it easier to fold the card stock neatly. - 5). Fold along the scored lines.
- 6). Use double-sided tape to secure the pocket at the bottom in place.
- 7). With a third color of paper, create an inset piece for the top section. This piece should be 1/4 inch smaller on all sides and can be taped or glued in place. To optimize the professionalism of the invitation, the inset piece should be printed.

Use ribbons, stickers, stamps and similar items to decorate the invitations. - 9). Finally, add enclosures to pocket, attach the inset piece, decorate and fold together. Insert into envelope and send to guests.
