Burlington Ontario - Best Mid Size City in Canada
After all, it is a beautiful city with plenty to offer.
Burlington has been home to me since 1984 and I've watched it go from farm land to what it is today.
The Top 5 Reasons I Love Burlington: 1-Burlington Is Located On Lake Ontario One of the main reasons why I call Burlington home is because of the waterfront.
The summers are absolutely beautiful and the lake attracts people from all over.
There is plenty of grass space for everyone.
All you need is a blanked and a picnic basket.
The waterfront is also home to many festivals during the summer months such as, The Sound of Music Festival, The Kite Festival and the popular Rib Festival.
One bite of those ribs and you'll be hooked.
I guarantee it.
2-It's A Short Drive To Toronto Being only 40 minutes (depending on traffic) away from one of the coolest cities in Canada puts Burlington in a perfect spot.
Toronto is so close you can actually see it from the Burlington waterfront.
On a clear day, you can almost touch the CN Tower.
Living near a big city is fun.
Burlington in itself is still a fairly a small place with quite neighbors.
The population is hovering atound 175,000 people.
If you're in the mood for some big city fun, you're only a short ride from Toronto 3-Strong Real Estate Market Back in 2008 when the real estate market crashed, Burlington Ontario was unfazed for the most part.
Sure, some high-end pockets of the city dropped in price, but over-all it was as if the city had a protective shield around it.
Within a couple of months the real estate prices started going up again and everything was back to normal.
4-Burlington Restaurants Burlington is all about great food.
The down-town core is very well known for the small mom and pop owned restaurants.
Parke the can any where on Brant street and start walking.
The smell at 5pm will bring you to the front doors of many wonderful restaurants.
Everything from Chinese to Italian to good old fashion burgers.
There is something for everyone.
5-Burlington Pier Now that the Burlington Pier (aka Brant Street Pier) is complete, it attracts visitors from all over.
Toronto is known all over the world for it's CN Tower, and now Burlington has it's pier.
It's amazing.
I recommend you get put there if you're ever in Burlington.
