Stop Giving Away Your Power! Wield It!

This week the Universe sent a really good one that I want to share:
€Here are the top 10 ways people give away their power:
1. Asking others what they should do.
2. Thinking God decides who gets what.
3. Worrying about how their dream will come true.
4. Thinking they have dues to pay.
5. Attaching to unimportant details and outcomes.
6. Believing in soul mates.
7. Thinking karma or spiritual contracts are absolute.
8. Fear of anything, especially falling in love.
9. Waiting for their ducks to line up before acting.
10. Choosing to be unhappy.

I share this this week because I come across these ideas so much in my work with people on their sexuality, relationships and overall happiness that it bears talking about! It's ironic how often the people who are in the belief that we can manifest our own lives, that we can create magic and that we truly have the power to direct our own destinies are often the same people who hold hard to ideas about karmic debt, fate (€If it's meant to happen, it will happen€), finding their soul mate, and waiting for €a sign.€
You ARE the sign! YOU direct your fate! You have every opportunity to shift anything that seems €fated€, €destined€, or €karmic.€ You are not outside of God/Universe/Power. You ARE it. And so many people can be your €soul mate€. There is no one soul mate! (See my post about soul mates here.) You could have so many people be a soul companion depending on what you need in your life and growth at any given time in your life.
What I see happen for many people is that they wait. They wait for something outside of them to happen so that they can take action and they have this all backwards. You drive the action. The universe will reflect it immediately.
Do you ever notice that as soon as you move towards something you want, that things begin to shift around that thing so you can actually have it? It's not a coincidence! For instance, when a new client signs up to work with me, taking a huge step towards growing her sexuality, things almost always begin to happen before we even have our first session! She meets someone special with whom she ends up having a powerful relationship, her divorce is finalized, her sexual energy shifts, she has the best sex of her life. It's amazing the way the stars begin to move for her, because SHE is directing it. She is saying, €I am ready€ and the Universe puts its puck in place, hands her the mallet and says, €Okay, let's go!€
Some people will read this and say, €Yeah, I know that.€ If you are thinking this, look at your life. If your life is not the magical, beautiful, joyful life you want to be living, then where are you holding back from having what you want? On some level you do not yet KNOW this. To know it is to live it every day.
When you take action and step into what you want, the Universe follows, because you are the guide of your own life. That is the most empowering idea in the world, and yet because it's also a lot of responsibility, many people spend their whole lives running from their own power. It's unbelievably liberating.
Step into your power to have the life you really want. Hold your mallet and hit your puck today. Make one decision that puts you on a path towards your desire and watch what happens.
Now that is real independence!
