Myth 1: You have no control
The sad thing when it comes to children is that even though you are their parent, you dont really have any full control over them and they will ultimately decide how they will behave. Things like punishing your child, asking him nicely or just force him to do something will maybe render some success, but that is a false assumption as the only thing the will is to cooperate with you. There are even parents that state the fact that their child must cooperate or else. Well, or else what? If your child will choose a certain type of behavior, he will definitely stick with it no matter what you will do or say. Its just up to them eventually.

Myth 2: You can cause some changes in their behavior
The only behavior that yo9u will be able to change, is yours, so that implies that if you want to change your childs behavior, you will have no chances, because HE must understand that something needs to be changed, not only you, so thats why auto-reflexive processes are very important for your child. For these to develop, you children must live in an appropriate environment, with no more than 2 hours of TV everyday and he must also have plenty of challenges to undertake.
Myth 3: Push backs and rebellions cant be avoided
There are various transitions for your child, either its the primary to middle school transition, either its the middle school to high school and so on. At each stage there are certain conflicts that a child will go through if he hasnt yet developed a strong and positive relationship with his parents. This can be avoided if you apply a positive child behavior modification technique with your child and you will see the difference very clearly when you will compare your relation with your child with relations other people you know, have.
