Decor Ideas for a Country Dance Hall
- If you have decided to have a party with a country western theme, you will want to decorate the dance hall to go along with the theme. Everything should tie in with the theme to give the guests the true country dance hall experience; the decorations are certainly no exception.
- The walls are the first place people will look, and if they are bare they can be seen as a blank canvas for your western decorations. Have wanted posters made up of the host, and if you have photos of the guests, you can add some wanted posters of the guests as well.
What else can be hung on the wall may depend on where you are and whether you are allowed hang things. If you can, hang some straw cowboy hats around the room to add to the festive atmosphere. - Decorate the tables to tie in to the western theme. Checkered tablecloths are a good start. Get creative with the centerpieces. A small potted cactus adds a fresh outdoor element. Another way to add a fresh touch is to use a lantern or a boot as a vase. Dried flowers will give that western look, and you can give them as party favors.
Get creative with the serving dishes as well. You can use an upside-down cowboy hat lined with a bandanna for chips or a bread basket. Look for small boot, cactus or animal dipping dishes for sauces.
For plates use wicker liners with paper plate inserts or plastic picnic ware. - Props set up around the room help create the country atmosphere. Pile a couple of bales of hay in the corner as a sitting area or a spot for photos. Also provide accessories for people to use for the photos, such as bandannas and hats.
Create some wooden signs in the old west style. Hang one above the bar or drink station that says "Saloon" and one in front of the main entrance that says "Dance Hall."
Scatter western-themed balloons around the room, such as those in the shape of a cactus or a boot.
