Social Musings 101: People Who Have Contributed to Society
Now I'm talking about the fact that we can breathe or feel or talk.
Most of the functions that we normally do we can and are grateful for.
But many of the things we enjoy regularly such as toilet paper when using the restroom or a comb to comb our hair we take for granted and use it without thinking, "Hey, I can actually style my hair the way I want it because someone before me had been frustrated that he/she couldn't stylize their hair and invented this comb device.
Now the comb isn't what I am musings about on this wonderful day.
What's on my mind today is our parents and for those of us who didn't have parents your legal guardian.
I don't know what kind of kid you were growing up.
But without parents a lot of us myself included would have probably gone down the wrong path.
I can look back and remember the many times that friendship peer pressure loved to steer or pull me in the wrong direction and my parents would act as the gatekeeper.
Not just any gatekeeper.
But I a stern gatekeeper with hand raised, "Stop.
" At the time of course we couldn't see why our parents were being so mean to us and not hip.
But now looking back, Man-o-man.
I'm so glad they were there to stop the dumb actions that made crystal clear logical sense to us kids.
So what I'm saying is if your parents or guardians are still alive give them a call.
Tell them how thankful and grateful you were that they steered you on the right path.
If your not talking to your parents or legal guardian right now please make mends with them in the here and now.
If they were to pass it would be sad that your weren't speaking because a parent or legal guardian didn't call you on your birthday but called your other sibling.
Yes in spite of all the LOVE and affection we have received from our parents some of us can be quite selfish.
But it's not about us, as many of us wouldn't have made it to this point without the parental guidance that we received.
So take the time and call or visit your parents or legal guardian and give them a simple, thank you.
Lastly if your parents or legal guardian has passed.
No worries.
You can visit them at their gravesite.
In my opinion it's never too late to make it happen.
On that note have a wonderful day, month, evening, or night where ever this article finds you.
