Democracy Without Bloodshed - Is it Possible?

103 14
How can history forget the 1986 Edsa Revolution of the Philippines, the first bloodless revolution in the world that toppled the 20-year dictatorship of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos.
This is a simple story that dictatorship does not end for a lifetime.
The sovereign still reigns above any tyrant.
Real power rests in the hands of the people.
It is a lesson that has to be instilled in the generations to come.
The citizens of any nation are never slaves and powerless.
If only they will be brave enough to be united and pull down a leader who serves as the cause of the nation's downfall, they can do it.
The little voices of the lowly when heard in unison are more than the deafening thunderstorm.
The combined efforts of the majority have a greater impact in overthrowing the cancers of society.
Democracy in itself need not to be bloody.
But its definition has been redefined by how nations nowadays perceive it.
Violence has been the ultimate response and scapegoat of most nations toward drastic change and no other alternatives have been set.
Many have the wrong impression that to have democracy we need to sacrifice lives and shed blood.
With the ongoing crises, the pathway toward democracy has been painted with blood and sufferings.
Is it the only way that we could think of? Almost all nations undergo the same scenario and the people do not learn the lessons of the past.
The situations are the same: only the places and characters in any given riot change.
What we need to understand is that if we really need change it should start within us; by how we think and how we do things.
It is about time to have a consultative assembly among the people and be more vocal in telling your thoughts and feelings to the world.
If leaders are corrupted by selfish authority, seek the help of other "superpower" nations.
They will truly help if their help is sought.
No good country would turn away if you really need help.
Try a new approach by taking things in diplomacy to avoid blood shedding.
Form groups and talk things out and not just rallying with different issues among the protesters that remain unresolved.
Democracy can survive without bloodshed if all the people experiencing a crisis will not allow it.
Believe it and do something about it to make it happen.
Above all, seek God's guidance.
In Him, nothing is impossible.
It is the secret weapon that no power on Earth could ever surpass.
Let Him be the true leader of democracy and all things will fall in their proper places.
