How to Switch to Feline Pine Cat Litter
- 1). Clean the litter box. Before you begin the transition from your current brand of kitty litter to Feline Pine, thoroughly clean your cat's litter box. Throw away all the old litter and scrub and disinfect the box. When the litter pan is dry, fill it to the usual level with 80 percent of the old brand and 20 percent Feline Pine.
- 2). Watch your cat. Pay extra attention to your cat's litter box usage for the next day or two. If your cat is using the litter box with the new kind of litter added, you will be able to make the transition to 100 percent Feline Pine successfully. If your cat refuses to use the clean box with 20 percent Feline Pine, cut back to 10 percent Feline Pine.
- 3). Increase the Feline Pine ratio gradually. Over the next several days and weeks as you scoop out your cat's litter box, replenish the litter with Feline Pine until all the old litter is gone. Continue to scrub out your cat's litter box on schedule, and your cat will adapt to this slow transition.
