How to Clean Electric Avent Sterilizers
- 1). Allow the Avent sterilizer to cool down completely.
- 2). Lift off the lid. Mix together one tablespoon citric acid with one cup water and stir until the citric acid is dissolved. Pour the citric acid mixture into the sterilizer and leave the lid off.
- 3). Turn the power on for two minutes and then turn the power off. Allow the citric acid mixture to sit in the sterilizer for 30 minutes.
- 4). Drain the citric acid mixture out of the sterilizer and rinse with water.
- 5). Run a full sterilize cycle with the lid on, but without any baby items inside. Use 1/3-cup water. Wipe out the sterilizer with a dry cloth when finished.
- 6). Pour one tablespoon vinegar with one cup cold water into the sterilizer and allow to sit for 30 minutes or until any mineral scale is removed. Empty and rinse well. Dry with a towel.
