  A sweet 16 party is a special occasion. When organizing a party for your child's sweet 16, plan something big. Both your child and his guests will be talking about this big sweet 16 party for years to come.
  
  

Limo Ride

• If budget allows, rent a limousine for the birthday guy and his guests. The limo can take the partygoers to a restaurant, a movie or the mall. Guests can dress casually if it's an afternoon event or more formally if it's an evening party. Most limos have disco balls, TVs and surround-sound stereo systems. Some limo services have sweet 16 packages that include a red carpet roll-out and an apple cider toast.
  
  

Black and White Attire

• When sending out invitations, tell the party guests that they must wear black or white or a combination of the two. Purchase black and white decorations for the party area. The sweet 16 guest of honor will wear a bright color to stand out against all the guests in black and white. This allows the birthday guy to feel special and make it known that it is his day.
  
  

Rent a Room

• Rent a banquet hall or party room. Hire a DJ and a photographer, and let the party begin. Purchase sweet 16 decorations in your daughter's favorite colors.
  
  Create a sweet 16 candy theme by arranging colorful candies on a large table, along with scoops and small gift bags. Set out clear jars full of small candies. Offer large lollipops, pixie sticks and cotton candy. Miniature gumball machine make great centerpieces for a candy party.
  
  

Hotel

• Rent two hotel rooms for the night, one for the girls and one for adult chaperones. Stay in a hotel that has a pool, spa and restaurant. The girls can swim, eat dinner and get manicures and pedicures without having to leave the hotel. Some hotels have banquet rooms that are available by the hour. The girls could take a CD player to the room and dance.
