Side Effects of Mavik
- In general, common side effects subside within a few days after you begin taking Mavik. However, if the side effects worsen or do not go away, see your health-care professional. These side effects include feeling lightheaded upon standing or sitting up, dry cough, exhaustion, headache, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, indigestion, weakness, muscle pains and vomiting.
- There are also several possible side effects associated with Mavik that are serious and require immediate medical assistance. These include fainting, shortness of breath, slow or abnormal heartbeat, unusual stomachache, sore throat, jaundice, hoarseness and fever.
- If a patient suspects she is experiencing an allergic reaction to Mavik, she should get emergency medical assistance immediately. Some signs of allergic reaction are skin rash, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, hives, and swelling of the tongue, face, lips and mouth.
- Pregnant women should not take Mavik, and women who hope to become pregnant should also avoid the medication. Mavik can cause severe or fatal damage to the fetus if taken after the third month of pregnancy.
- If you suspect an overdose by anyone taking Mavik, seek emergency medical attention as soon as possible. Signs of possible Mavik overdose include a strangely slow or rapid heartbeat, extreme dizziness, and losing consciousness.
