We are all human beings and there can be moments when you may have to face stressful situations, either at home or at work.
But, we also know that stress is one of the main reasons for hypertension.
Therefore, it is important for you to learn how to control your blood pressure even when the situation is out of your control and stressful moments are building up.
Know Your Body The more you know about your body, the better you will be able to handle stress.
So, you must know how to listen to your body.
Your body keeps telling you what they need in different situations.
The reason why hypertension is referred to as a silent killer is that most of us are unable to listen to our body.
Take A Break From Work If stressful moments are building up while you are at work, you are strongly recommended to take a short break of 15 minutes every hour or two.
This will keep you relaxed and you will be able to control your blood pressure.
Try to stay away from the work area during these breaks.
Focus on something else - something good.
If you don't take frequent breaks, you will first experience a small headache, which will eventually take the form of a pounding sensation or a dull ache on one side of your head as the day progresses and things start piling up.
Such conditions can be a clear sign of blood pressure spike.
Spend Some Time Alone Talking to people is not a good way to relax unless you really enjoy the company of someone special.
If you are talking to just anybody, chances are that you will end up getting yourself stressed up a bit more.
So, a good way is to stay alone.
If possible, go to an area where you could enjoy the scenery out of the window.
Try to divert your focus to nature.
Explore the beauty of the scenery.
When you see the beautiful side of the world, it will help you fight the stress.
Alternatively, in order to control your blood pressure, you can also listen to rainfall or ocean waves in a MP3 player or CD player.
Such sounds have amazing rhythmic characteristics, which can be very helpful in soothing your headache.
Take Control Of Yourself This can be a very difficult thing to do, but it is not impossible.
In this method, you have to tell yourself that you are not going to take the stress no matter how bad the situations are.
Speak it aloud so that your mind listens to what you are saying.
In fact, there are two parts in the brain - the conscious part and the unconscious part.
Stress first initially starts piling up in the unconscious part and when it takes a serious form, it starts affecting the conscious part as well.
So, when you keep feeding positive thoughts to your unconscious mind, it reacts accordingly.
In order to do it effectively, you can sit in a relaxed position with your eyes closed and picture some pleasant things in your imagination, such as picturing yourself on the Florida beach on a moonlit night.
If you do it with concentration, you will definitely be able to handle your stress and control your blood pressure.
