Woodworking Furniture Plans That Are Easy To Use
Ever tried to build a piece of furniture with an incomplete plan? Or worse, no plan at all? I have, a couple of times. The result each time was, say, less than desirable. It didn't take me long to understand when I first got start that I needed woodworking furniture plans that were easy to read and use.
In the beginning I would just take a picture out of a magazine or with my phone of a piece I wanted to build. I tried that twice and both times I couldn't even finish. I figured out that I needed some instruction, a plan, but did not know what I really needed.
I tried getting some so called free plans off the internet and they were either just an exploded diagram (no dimensions, no real instructions, no material lists...) or an advertisement for some product. I also found some designers that would produce a plan for a specific piece but they wanted an arm and a leg and the other foot to do this; so that was out.
It was my cousin who pointed me in the right direction. He told me that there are a few companies out there that offer online libraries of woodworking furniture plans that can be downloaded. Of course it costs money but not as much as you might think.
This one site, which for one price you get more than 14,000 different plans (I know seems ridiculous and unbelievable I know, but its true), usually charges 50 bucks, but I found a review website that sold it at a discount. So I bought all those plans for on 39 dollars - I was, and still am, stoked!
So I buy these plans and get the email with the download information and there was extra stuff also. They have a members area with video instruction and some other cool 'bonus' stuff also. All on woodworking of course.
The bottom line is that these Woodworking Furniture Plans [http://www.diy-woodworking-plans.info/woodworking-plans.htm] are super easy to read and use. The have specific, plain language instructions and very concise details and diagrams. There are lots of notes that call out the important activities associated with finishing the project successfully (this was really important to me). These plans also come with a complete material list and hardware list for each individual project - no more guessing.
The first thing I built was a coffee table. I picked out something I thought would be simple. Turns out there is a lot more to a coffee table than meets the eye. But with my super duper get it done woodworking plans, I was able to knock it out of the park. My coffee table turned out perfect; it's still in my living room today.
If you love woodworking like I do, and you would love to build some of your own furniture, these woodworking furniture plans are for you. For me, very few things beat the satisfaction of building my own furniture; anyone can do this.
