How to Make a Barn for Kids' Play
- 1). Decide which side of the box will be the bottom and cut off the flaps from that side. On the top, use the two larger flaps to form a V-shaped roof. The small flaps can be used to support the roof.
- 2). Secure the V-shaped roof using a strip of white tape on the outside. Add stability to the roof by taping the short flaps to the large ones on the inside.
- 3). Use your craft knife to cut out double doors from the front of the box. Leave one side of the doors attached so they can be opened and closed.
- 4). Add a small window to the back of your box by cutting a square shape out of the cardboard. This is optional but will allow you to supervise children playing inside the barn with the doors closed.
- 5). Cover the floor with a drop cloth and paint the barn red, allowing your children to help. You may need more than one coat of paint.
- 6). Use the white tape to add trim to the barn once the paint has dried. Trim can be added around the window and doors or to the edges of the roof.
