A shirtless E.J. plops down on the bed waiting for Nicole. Meanwhile, Nicole is stunned to see Brady at the doorstep. Brady asks to come in, insisting that he needs to talk to her. Upstairs, E.J. begins to get impatient waiting for Nicole.

Nicole admits how weird it is to see Brady, letting him know that this isn’t what she expected to be doing right now. Brady reveals that he finished rehab, and now he has to make amends with the people whom he’s hurt in the past.

He admits he’s not proud with the way he left things with her. A bewildered Nicole asks how he can like her, rehashing how she did such horrible things to him and Chloe. Brady declares that he wants to put everything in the past and wants to start over. “Which part? The part when you fall in love with someone else or when I fall in love with an emotional terrorist?” she inquires. Brady clarifies that he means start over with a clean slate and possibly even as friends. Nicole notes how he’s done the growing up thing and asks not to talk about their past. Brady questions what in the hell she’s doing living there of all places. Nicole reveals that she’s having a baby, which stuns Brady. He’s even more surprised to hear that E.J. is the father of her baby, as he recalls how E.J. screwed up Sami’s life. Nicole affirms that she and E.J. really care about each other. Brady is glad she’s happy and congratulates her. As they embrace, E.J. comes downstairs with his shirt unbuttoned and witnesses their close moment.

The moment is awkward as a stammering Nicole apologizes for getting held up. She makes the introductions between the men. Brady offers to get going and asks Nicole to call him when she’s done. E.J. asks Nicole to walk him to the front door before he heads out. Nicole insists that she didn’t know Brady was going to be there. E.J. says he has things to do, deducing that she hasn’t finished with her past. Nicole laments doing some terrible things to Brady and says he’s just trying to put his life back together. E.J. assures her that he understands and isn’t mad. He kisses her before leaving. Nicole promises not to answer the door to anyone next time. It appears that E.J. is a bit jealous.

Nicole rejoins Brady as E.J. asks Mary the housekeeper to keep an eye on Nicole and her guest. Mary notes that he missed a button. E.J. jokes how he just does that to keep her on her toes. Nicole fixes Brady a cup of coffee and tells him he looks great. Brady returns the compliment, then brings up how he saw John this morning, who treated him like a salesman. Nicole displays sympathy for Brady. He shares how he talked with Chloe, who told him that Nicole’s friendly with John. He wants Nicole to help him get through to his dad. Nicole affirms that she and John are friends, but suggests that Brady give “John 2.0" a chance. Brady refuses, stating that it’s not going to happen. Nicole assumes that John was brass and cold and looked at Brady like he wasn’t even there. Brady quips how John is a real sweetheart now. Nicole encourages Brady to look at the situation from John’s point of view. She asks Brady how he would feel if he dealt with people who wanted him to be someone whom he didn’t even know. Brady thanks her for talking to him and is glad she’s happy. Nicole makes Brady smile when she notes how both he and John are as stubborn as hell. Brady sighs and kisses her on the cheek. He admits that E.J.’s a lucky guy. After he walks out, she tells herself not to get involved, then makes a call to John asking him to come over.

Cheatin Heart

Ray Jackson, the cemetery caretaker, points to Nick in the picture and fingers him as the person he saw in the cemetery the night Trent was murdered. Bo grumbles how Nick’s already taken a bullet for “that little wench.” Hope worries about what Nick has gotten himself into this time. Bo asks if Hope has Nick’s number, but she doesn’t think they should call Nick. Hope wonders if Bo thinks Nick saw the murderer. Bo believes Melanie can make a guy like Nick do whatever she wants. They head over to Maggie’s together.

Mickey and Maggie’s House

A distraught Melanie comes downstairs with her suitcase, sobbing over the revelation that she killed her dad. Nick comforts her and flashes back to stabbing Trent in the back. He assures her that it’s going to be okay, stating that Trent deserved to die and brought this on himself. Melanie cries how confused she is right now. Nick laments sending her those notes, claiming he wanted to protect her. He insists that they need to get out of there, but she says she needs to turn herself in to the police. She expresses how she hated Trent and needed him to love her, but she never wanted to be like him. A sobbing Melanie surmises that if she turns herself in, she’ll finally be at peace. Nick appears to have a headache and admits he’s a little scared, believing the cops will arrest him too. Melanie is confused by this, since he’s not the one who killed Trent. Nick brings up Hope’s name, then tries to assure her that he’s on her side. “It was my choice to do the things I did,” he adds. He claims he lied to Hope and he’s an accomplice, so they should go through this together. Melanie cries how it isn’t fair, as he’s done so much for her and she’s done nothing for him. He continues to try and talk Melanie out of turning herself in. She reluctantly agrees to go away with him.
