    • 1). Send out invitations to friends and family of the expectant father. This can be a little tricky sometimes. The idea of a baby shower for a man is a relatively new one and some men would not be caught dead at such an event. You know your friends. Change the name if you have to, or just invite them over for beers and suggest they bring a baby gift or some advice for the daddy-to-be. If you're planning with short notice or if paper crafts are not for you, consider sending an email or evite rather than sending a traditional invitation. This saves time and money, and be an easy way to keep track of who is coming.

    • 2). Make a list of gift ideas. As the RSVPs start coming in, inevitably someone is going to ask you what the daddy-to-be needs or wants as a gift. Keep a list of gift ideas handy. Suggestions include: a daddy diaper bag, a baby sling or backpack style carrier, baby clothes, baby toys, items off of the mommy-to-be's registry, diapers, diapers, and diapers!

    • 3). Prepare the food. As with any party, your menu should fit the guests you are expecting. Since this is a party for guys and is primarily focused on the expected baby and daddy-to-be, you might choose to go with a theme menu. One suggestion is a Mimi-Me-Menu, which includes foods like: pigs in a blanket made out of cocktail weenies, mini pizzas made out of English muffins and slider sandwiches in place of full size burgers.

    • 4). Gather the supplies you need for shower games and prizes for the winners. Every shower must have shower games. You might play "Guess the poopy diaper," where you melt different candy bars in baby diapers. Each player has to try to guess which candy bar is which based only on smelling the diaper. The person who guesses the most correctly wins. Another game option is baby item memory. For this game, you place several baby items on a platter and let the party guests view the platter for 90 seconds. Once the 90 seconds is over, you hide the platter and the guests have to make a list of the items on the platter. The person who can remember the most items wins.
