Kell Brook next fight: Khan, Marquez or Rios potentially?
It was a night to remember for Kell Brook last night, perhaps not for the quality of opposition he dispatched of, but more for the impressive nature of his return after a life threatening injury last year.
Jo Jo Dan was never a world beater but to be fair to him he had worked his way to the mandatory contender position for Brook's IBF welterweight title and he was a competent operator.
But alas, Brook made him look out of his depth in a highly impressive four round hammering that showed 'Special K' to be a class above.
Attention turns straight away to what will be next for the man form Sheffield. After the fight calls from him and his promoter Eddie Hearn were put out to fellow British welterweight Amir Khan for a possible fight at the iconic Wembley stadium in the summer.
It's a fight I'd love to see and one I think could easily sell 80,000 tickets in the UK's national stadium. We've spoken about the fight on here before, but the decision seems to sit with Amir Khan.
Brook's side seem to want it and it is a little puzzling as to why Khan would not want it, given the fact it probably represents the most money he'd likely make in his career to date, and the fact there would be a world title on the line.
Names in the past months mentioned as possible Brook opponents also included legendary Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
Stylistically I'd be be very interested to see how Brook would deal with such a crafty boxer and in my opinion, it would represent the best boxer from a skill perspective he'd have ever faced.
There had been talks recently from Juan Manuel's trainer that the legendary warrior may not be boxing on for too much longer, so getting a fight with him near the end of his career could be quite the coup for team Brook.
Another candidate that's been floating about for Brook recently is the colorful Brandon Rios, who's always in good fights and is known for his relentless bravery and aggression.
From a matchmaking point of view, this could represent the easiest challenge for Brook - given the Englishman's counter punching ability and beautiful jab.
Potentially Rios could walk onto the bigger Brook's jab all night long and not get anywhere close to him. Rios is a name in the States and if Hearn wanted to bring Brook back over for more exposure, this could be a likely option.
The fight fans in Britain and Ireland really want to see is the Khan fight, but I'm not sure will we see it this year.
If khan were to lose to Brook at this stage, a possible fight with the winner of Mayweather and Pacquiao is straight down the toilet for him. His stocks would plummet.
Another option for later in the year or possibly ever next year for Brook, would of course be either Pacquiao or Mayweather. Lets not forget that Brook is one of the few elite level welterweights in the world now who is undefeated like Floyd 'Money' Mayweather.
After another big fight it's debatable that Brook could be put forward from a commercial perspective for such a bonanza at some point.
Then of course you also have Kieth Thurman as a possible Brook foe.
However, due to the lack of profile Thurman has in the UK it's unlikely we'll see this anytime soon, as Brook has two voluntary defenses available to him now - which likely will be pushed for home events by his handlers.
Whatever is up next, things are looking bright for the undefeated Kell Brook, with a big summer 2015 fight in store.
