Cover the pan and put it on the stove over medium heat. Heat the water to a slow boil (about six minutes). Stir occasionally with the spoon. - 4). Turn the stove off as soon as the water boils. Leave the syrup on the stove until it completely cools.
- 5). When the syrup is cool, fill the hummingbird feeder and store the remaining nectar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
