Instructions for the Oneway Sharpening System
- 1). Rest the butt of the wood chisel in the V-shaped end of the "Vee-Arm" jig.
- 2). Adjust the length of the "Vee-arm" so the tip of the wood chisel rests on the surface of the grinding wheel at the desired angle.
- 3). Put on safety glasses.
- 4). Lift the chisel head away from the surface of the grinding wheel.
- 5). Turn on the Oneway Sharpening System.
- 6). Lower the head of the chisel until it comes into contact with the grinding wheel. Increase the speed for faster, deeper grinding.
- 7). Turn off the Oneway Sharpening System.
- 8). Check the tip of the wood chisel to judge the angle the wood chisel is being sharpened and adjust the length of the "Vee-arm" accordingly. You can test the chisel's sharpness by chiseling a piece of scrap wood. Chisel sharpness is subjective, but the chisel should be sharp enough to produce small cuts in wood with light strokes of a hammer, as well as deeper cuts with heavier strokes.
- 9). Sharpen the opposite side of the wood chisel.
