In the old days, it was usually only the upper classes who had obesity problems.
The main reasons for this were because they had many different kinds of food to eat, and they did not have to do strenuous work.
The lower classes were generally almost too thin because of the lack of food, and all of the hard work that they had to do.
However, the times have indeed changed, and now people from many different backgrounds are suffering from obesity.
With obesity comes a range of different problems, such as high cholesterol, diabetes, and sleep apnea.
While there are various physical signs that can point to many of these health conditions to make the person aware of them, this is often untrue in the case of sleep apnea.
In fact, unless a person happens to sleep with someone who will alert him or her to the possibility of having this sleep disorder, then a person with sleep apnea might not ever notice the signs of this potentially fatal sleep condition.
In order to understand what this sleep condition is, it is important to understand the effects of obesity on the body.
First of all, the heart is the organ that is the most at risk, because that is what pumps the blood all over the body in order to keep it healthy.
When a person is obese, the heart will have to work extra hard in order to pump the blood efficiently.
However, many obese people suffer from various kinds of heart problems.
If the heart is not pumping efficiently, it then is causing other important areas of the body, such as the brain, to function incorrectly because of a lack of oxygen.
It is the brain that controls the parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn controls breathing.
Sleep apnea is a disorder in which the person stops breathing for a minute or longer at a time while they are asleep.
Sometimes, a person might be awakened by this condition, but he or she will not know that it was because they were not breathing.
If the brain continues to lack in oxygen, it can cause brain damage, and even death.
So, it is important that the person recognize the signs of this condition before it is too late.
The two most prevalent signs are constant forgetfulness, and feeling tired despite having gotten a full night of sleep.
Of course, both of these symptoms can also be indicative of other health problems.
So, a sleep study might need to be done on the person to determine whether or not this person does indeed have this sleep disorder.
While this sleep disorder can often be rectified by medication, if the patient is obese, then he or she will need to be placed on a diet and exercise plan.
A good diet means eating foods that are high in both nutrients (this means, most prominently, fruits and vegetables) and fiber.
The fiber will help to increase the metabolism, which in turn allows a person to lose weight effectively, and get them on the way to the right weight and excellent health.
