    • 1). Pour 1 gallon of lukewarm water into a clean, plastic 5-gallon bucket. Add 1 cup of powdered oxygen bleach. Stir the water and bleach together until the oxygen bleach dissolves.

    • 2). Dampen a sponge in the mixture and wring the excess liquid out while holding the sponge over the bucket. Alternatively, use a sponge mop to clean the mildew off tiles. The sponge mop will keep you from having to bend down or get on your knees to remove the mildew.

    • 3). Wipe the mildew off the tiles with the damp sponge. Rinse the sponge clean under cool, running water when it becomes soiled. Submerge it into the mixture, wring the sponge to remove the excess mixture and continue wiping the tiles until you have removed the mildew.

    • 4). Rinse the oxygen bleach mixture off the tiles by wiping with a damp cloth. Let the tiles air dry. Alternatively, use clean towels to wipe the excess liquid off the tiles.

    • 5). Remove mildew trapped in the tile grout by dipping an old toothbrush in the oxygen bleach mixture. Scrub the grout for several passes before letting the mixture sit on the grout for 10 to 15 minutes. If needed, scrub the grout once again with the old toothbrush. Wipe the mixture off the grout with a clean cloth dampened in cool water.
