Whether you decide to make wood your primary heating fuel or just want to spend winter evenings around a warm, flickering fire, you'll need to choose from a bewildering array of alternatives: elegant enameled wood stoves, high-efficiency fireplaces, furnaces or even cook stoves.

You may have found that, wood stoves are becoming more and more popular. The advantages of home heating with wood are numerous: comfort, beauty, independence, security and environmental responsibility. Secondly, wood is a carbon-neutral fuel. It does release carbon dioxide when burnt, however, every tree cut down another is planted, and the carbon released from the felled tree thus absorbed by another tree.

Thirdly, some wood stoves allow you to cook whilst warming your home. Many wood burning stoves are clean enough to be legally used in urban smoke-free zones, the particulate emissions are three to four times less than with an open fire.

However, seeking for a high quality, efficient clean stove meets your needs is not an easy thing, it may require some digging. The heating efficiency rating is determined by meeting your needs manufacturer by testing full loads of seasoned cordwood.

When testing for heating efficiency, two criteria are examined: extraction efficiency; the firewood load is weighed going in, and the particulate emission and ashes are weighed after the fire to determine how effectively a given firebox design breaks down the fuel to extract the available heat and heat transfer efficiency.

If you don't want multi burning stoves, gas stoves, electrical stoves, you can't miss wood stoves, which are earth-friendly, effective and efficient.
