VerbalUnderstanding.
Does your toddler understand simple commands? For example,does she understand and follow through with "get your shoes"? If so thisis a good sign.
Toddlers must be able to understand simple commands topotty train.

ShowingInterest.
Is your toddler showing an interest in the bathroom? In usingthe toilet? Is your toddler following you into the bathroom to watch whatgoes on in there? Are they watching what happens when you flush thetoilet? Are they trying to flush the toilet for you? If so this is another great sign yourtoddler is getting ready to potty train.

GainingIndependence.
Is your toddlerstarting to show signs of independence? Are they starting to pull up theirown pants? Trying to put on their own clothes? Picking out what they wantto wear? Choosing what they want to eat? Gaining independence is a huge part of getting ready to pottytrain.
As your toddler gains more independence it is only logical the nextstep would be gaining independence in the toileting department.

BladderControl.
Does your toddler havebetter bladder control? Are they able to go 2 to 3 hours without a wetdiaper? Do they wake up from naps dry? Are they dry in the morning? It is important for a toddler to haveenough bladder control to be able to hold their urine until they get tothe toilet.
It also allows them to release urine when they are on thetoilet.

Don'tlike dirty diapers.
Does you toddler let you know now when their diapersare dirty? Do they run to the "changing spot" when their diaper is wet ordirty? When a toddler starts to realize their diapers are dirty it is avery good sign time to potty train is imminent.
Understanding the concept of a dirtydiaper means they are also able to understand going to the toilet beforethey dirty their diapers.
