    • 1). Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down your drain to deodorize.

    • 2). Pour 1/2 cup vinegar into the drain, too. This will instantly cause a foam reaction with the baking soda that will work down the drain and break up the clog.

    • 3). Pour 1 gallon boiling water into your drain to flush out the residue.

    • 4). Plunge the drain vigorously with either your household plunger or a small sink plunger. Pour 1 gallon boiling water down the drain to wash down the residue.

    • 5). Push a pipe snake into the drain to break up tougher buildup. Rinse the drain when finished with hot water.
