Updated April 16, 2005 - "S.W.A.T." star Michelle Rodriguez joins Taryn Manning ("A Lot Like Love"), and Oliver Hudson ("New Best Friend") for the indie horror film, "The Breed."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Breed" is the story of five friends who run into genetically altered, intelligent dogs (with an appetite) while on a vacation island.
"The Breed" will mark the directorial debut of Nick Mastandrea, a collaborator of Wes Craven's.
Craven will executive produce the film, with David Lancaster, Marianne Maddalena, and Apollo Media producing. First Look Media and DEJ Productions made a deal for worldwide rights.
Commenting on the acquisition, First Look president Bill Lischak told The Hollywood Reporter, "Distributing a horror film produced by one of the most respected creators of the horror genre, Wes Craven, and his protege, Nick Mastandrea, is a great opportunity for First Look and DEJ Prods."
