Business

• Women'sNet.net provides grants up to $1,500 to women starting a small business. Eligible uses of the Amber Foundation Grant Award include purchasing equipment or creating a website. You can apply online at the Women'sNet.net for a grant. College students currently pursuing a career in business can apply for a BrainTrack Scholarship to help pay the costs of their education. Students can receive up to $1,000. Application rounds are held twice a year. The student must have at least one semester of credits toward a degree in business to apply for a grant.
  
  

Writing

• The Academy of American Poets Book Awards provides the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize of $25,000 to published poets. To qualify for a grant award, you must have an original book of poetry published in the United States. The book must be 40 pages or more in length. Self-published work is not eligible. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting awards up to five screenwriters $30,000 to complete one original feature film screenplay. To apply for a fellowship, you must have not earned more than $5,000 writing fictional for film or TV.
  
  

Food Science

• The American Dietetic Association Foundation awards scholarships up to $10,000 to junior or senior level college students studying dietetics. Those in their second year in a dietetic technician program are also eligible to apply. All scholarship recipients must be members of the American Dietetic Association. The Culinary Trust provides grants and scholarships for continuing education, independent study and to bring nutrition and cooking into a public school setting. The Culinary Program Scholarships helps students pay for the costs of obtaining a degree in culinary arts.
  
  

Nursing

• Campus RN offers six scholarships up to $2,500 to nursing students across the county. Your school must be registered with Campus RN for you to be eligible for an award. The Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity organization provides awards up to $120,000 to support nurses who specialize in academic geriatric nursing. An additional $500 is granted to fellowship and predoctoral scholars whose research include the study on pain in seniors. The goal of these programs is to increase the country's ability to provide effective and affordable care for the elderly.
