How to Obtain a Business License in Arizona
- 1). Visit the website Arizona--How to Plan and Start a Business (see Resources below.) This gives documents and links for getting business licensing in Arizona.
- 2). Contact your city or town hall's Licensing or Planning division. You can either use one of the links noted on the Arizona--How to Plan and Start a Business website or simply call or visit your local government hall. Ask how much you have to pay to get a business license in your jurisdiction. The fees in Arizona are typically $10 to $100.
- 3). Pay your required taxes and fill out any forms with your city or town government as required. You will likely need to pay the fees by cash in person, mailed business check or a credit card in person. Provide any information requested, which is usually the nature of your business, number of employees and basic personal and business identifying data such as names and addresses.
- 4). Wait to receive a copy of your Arizona business license. You will usually get it the same day if completing the licensing process in person. Otherwise, you will receive it in the mail within 30 days or fewer.
- 5). Hang the license in a visible place within your business location.
