  Wedding rehearsal dinners provide an opportunity for the families of the bride and groom to come together and get to knew each other a little before the wedding. The bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer also attend the rehearsal dinner. Couples usually give small rehearsal dinner gifts to the guests to demonstrate their appreciation.
  
  

For Her

• Show your gratitude to the women who helped you plan your wedding and supported you through this exciting and stressful time in your life. Give your bridesmaids a silver-plated jewelry box, compact mirror or flask engraved with their names. You can also give them matching jewelry that they can wear during the ceremony. If you have a large budget, give each woman a strand of pearls. For brides on a tighter budget, give a pendant necklace, beaded necklace, earrings or bracelets.
  
  Let the mother of the bride, mother of the groom and any other female family member who helped with the wedding planning -- such as an aunt who made your wedding cake -- know how special they are to you. Choose a special piece of jewelry that caters to their particular tastes, or have a heartfelt sentiment engraved on a jewelry box or compact mirror.

• The groom should recognize his groomsmen's support and participation in the wedding with a gift. Give the male wedding participants silver cufflinks, pocket watches, money clips or utility knives. For less formal presents, give personalized beer glasses, shot glasses, pilsner glasses, tankards or engraved flasks. Cigar humidors are appropriate gifts as well.

• The wedding rehearsal dinner also includes children involved in the wedding, such as a flower girl and ring bearer. You don't want to leave these kids out of the gift giving. For very young ring bearers, give a pewter coin bank in the shape of a train, fire truck or bulldozer. To make the gift special, have the child's name engraved on it. You can also give him a silver plated yo-yo or harmonica. If your ring bearer is an older boy, he might enjoy a utility knife or cufflinks.
