How to Send Money to a Foreign Bank
- 1). Get the information you will need to perform the wire transfer. This includes the recipient's name, address, bank name, bank address and account number.
- 2). Go to your bank and request a money transfer form. Fill out the form with the recipient's information and the amount of money that you want to transfer. You can send funds in either your currency or the foreign country's currency. If you don't already have sufficient funds in your account to cover the transfer, you may need to deposit cash into your account.
- 3). Pay the wire transfer fee to your bank, which could cost up to $40 for an overseas transfer. Your bank may debit this charge directly from your bank account.
- 4). Tell your recipient to expect the money to be available within two or three business days. Some countries may take longer to make the funds available.
