Who would have dreamed that a social networking site such as Twitter could become an important instrument of marketing? In the beginning, most people may not have used it as such, but time has shown that Twitter provides the very link that is needed for emotional marketing.
In allowing you and your business to be brought virtually into the homes of millions, there's never been a better ploy.
When you start following people on Twitter, as well as gaining followers of your own, you have a very unique opportunity to get the word out about your product or service.
Bring your followers into your life by sharing little texts, or "tweets," with them about your business.
However, you're also going to want to make them feel special.
Treat them like friends.
Pay attention to what people are saying about your business in their tweets.
Years ago, it wasn't possible for business owners to be a part of a random private conversation between two customers.
So, if these two customers were exchanging views about your service or product, chances are, these views would never be known to the company.
With Twitter, that's no longer an issue.
Your followers will constantly tweet to you, and with each other, regarding their opinions.
Then you can do your own tweeting.
Use Twitter to announce specials only for your followers.
Give them updates of new things well ahead of them being released publicly.
This appeals to their emotional natures and makes them loyal customers for a long time to come.
