Typical Nutrisystem Foods And Meals
I recently had someone ask me what a typical day on Nutrisystem was like. She wanted to know what types of food she would be eating and how these tasted. I think she was sort of envisioning card board type cereal for breakfast and salads or a veggie tray for dinner or lunch. This really isn't the reality, in my observation.
Although the portion of your typical Nutrisystem meal may be a bit smaller than what you would eat if you aren't on a diet, the choices aren't the type of food that you may associate with dieting. In the following article, I'll take a look at the food options on this diet in the hopes that these examples will give you an idea of what the "typical Nutrisystem meal" would encompass.
Nutrisystem Breakfast Examples: There are both hot and cold options here. Let's start with the cold. There are all different types of cold cereals as well as muffins, scones, and bars. These all come in many different flavors. And, the cereal isn't tasteless and doesn't take like cardboard. The bars, muffins, and scones are all quite tasty, although I like some of the flavors better than others. In terms of hot food, there's pancakes, a cinnamon roll, oatmeal, and an egg frittata. There's also some omelets on the select menu.
A Sampling Of Nutrisystem Lunches: There's plenty of lunch choices also, although the food is a bit lighter than what's on the dinner menu. There are soups, pastas, salads, bars, and even hot dogs. Examples are things like fettuccine alfredo, chicken caesar salad, chicken noodles, tortellini, black beans and rice, and minestrone. If you're in a hurry, you can always opt for one of the ready made bars, which are grab and go but which also taste pretty good. On the select menu, there are more premium options like melts and paninis.
Typical Nutrisystem Dinners: The dinner menu is where you get a lot of the comfort food choices like pizza, macaroni and cheese, lasagna, steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, meatloaf, spaghetti, sloppy joes, and chicken and dumplings. Most of the dinner items require for you to heat them. But, there are a lot of good options that you might be surprised are included on a diet menu.
Nutrisystem Snacks And Desserts: Speaking of things that are surprising to see on a diet's offerings, my favorite foods on this diet are usually found on the snack and dessert menu. Some of the desserts that I favor are the chocolate cake, the chocolate candy bars, the Nutrichocolates, the fudge brownie, the carrot cake, and the walnut chocolate chip cookies.
In the snack department, you have things like the cheese puffs, the buffalo wing pretzels, the nachos, and the snack mix. Keep in mind that with each meal, you're asked to add in a fresh fruit, dairy, or vegetables. So, in this way you're able to change things up so that you have more variety.
