    Memphis Zoo

    • The Memphis Zoo keeps about 2,800 animals from over 400 species on 70 acres of land. The site includes a children's farm and puts shows and events throughout the day that will help your toddler learn about the animals they see. The zoo keeps a range of unusual creatures including pandas, polar bears and hippopotamuses in as close to their natural environment as is possible within the confines of a zoo.

    Pink Palace Family of Museums

    • The Pink Palace Family of Museums is run by the City of Memphis Division of Park Services and Memphis Museums. It incorporates a museum that tells the story of Memphis through the use of historical artifacts and features a display of fossils. Visitors can also take advantage of an on-site cinema complex and the Sharpe Planetarium which offers a glimpse into the secrets of space.

    Wave Country

    • Wave Country is a sprawling water park in Nashville. Although the 40-foot water slides might be a little too much for younger children, the site features a toddler's pool with water-dropping features and a playground. All children younger than 12 will need to be accompanied by someone who is at least 18.

    Dinosaur Walk Museum

    • The Dinosaur Walk Museum in Pigeon Forge boasts realistic life-sized sculptures of the prehistoric creatures that roamed the earth during the Jurassic period. The museum offers a kids club and monthly events and dinosaur-related talks and activities that should fire your toddler's imagination. Children can get close to the sculptures on display and start to get an understanding of the scale of real dinosaurs.
