Celebrate a decade of martial bliss by throwing a 10-year wedding anniversary party. Host an informal gathering at your home, or opt for a formal night out with the entire family. Throw a themed party, or simply invite a few friends over for dinner and wine. Whatever you choose, celebrate your marriage with a party that not only fits your style, but is a proper beginning for the next ten years of marriage.

    Party of Ten

    • Throw a "party of ten" using the number 10 as your theme. Ask each guest to come up with one or two interesting (this could be funny or not, depending on your sense of humor) things about the married couple, then ask someone to read aloud the "top ten" things at the party. Set out ten different types of finger foods. Bake a cake shaped like the number 10. Attach a bouquet of ten balloons to the front of the house or party venue. For a final touch, suggest that guests dress in the style of clothing from ten years ago.

    Honeymoon Revisited

    • Throw a party based on your honeymoon location. For example, if you went to Hawaii, you could throw a tenth anniversary luau, complete with tiki torches, coconut cake and colorful silk flower leis. Many party stores even sell luau decorations, including paper or silk palm trees. Pop in a CD of ocean sounds and you will have a party that will bring back lots of romantic memories for you and your spouse.

    Adults Only

    • Get away for an adult's night out. Many couples have young children by the time they've been married for ten years. Hire a babysitter and get together with some family and friends for an evening out with the adults. Reserve a large table or room at a nice restaurant, and enjoy a private party with adult food and drink--no chicken nuggets or juice in sight.

    Renew Vows

    • Love one another--again. The tenth wedding anniversary is a popular time to renew wedding vows. Host a vow renewal party, where you invite family and friends to witness the renewal of your vows. Make it a formal affair, or stick with an informal family barbecue. Whichever you choose, be sure to indicate whether or not you want gifts, as many guests might be unsure whether this is a gift-giving celebration or not.
