How to start a business.
When starting a new business you will come across loads of obstacles and challenges. The aim of the game is to smash right through them and keep strong. Most businesses fail within the first year of opening.
Let me tell you a bit about myself first. I grew up in London and from the age of 12 I had my own mobile car cleaning "business", I say "business" because of course I paid no taxes etc. However I did make a lot of money for a 12 year old. At the age of 17 I was on the verge of properly setting up a driveway and patio business in London, however before I brought the equipment my father offered me a job working in Drainage.
Not starting my own company was probably the biggest regret I have in life. I have a great marketing plan and I knew I could have made a lot of money.
Right now on to tips for setting up your own pool cleaning company. The reason I have chosen this field is because I am now living in sunny Orange County, California. Marketing is simple, and this is usually the hardest part. Simply log onto Google earth, zoom into your local area and scan the entire city for pools in backyards. I can count 12 in the few streets that are down the road from me. You then need to make up a fancy flyer, try and do this on your own using a computer. When you've marked down on a map where the pool is you want to visit your potential client in person. Be extremely polite and courteous and offer a great deal. If they say no let them know the offer still stands and write it on your flyer and hand it to them.
All you need to start is some transport, a cleaning net with a long pole, some chemicals and a PH testing kit. You will eventually want to invest in a vacuum for the base of the pool. As you can see, after you've taken care of the paper work (insurance etc) it's not that hard at all to set up your very own pool cleaning business!
