How to Remove Oil Stains From a Garage
- 1). Pour enough paint thinner on each spot or stain until it is completely covered.
- 2). Cover each stain with a heaping pile of fresh cat litter. The cat litter will soak up fresh stains, while the paint thinner will help loosen any old ones. The cat litter will also prevent anyone or any animals from getting to the paint thinner.
- 3). Allow the paint thinner and cat litter to soak up the stain for at least 12 hours. Because of the amount of time it takes for optimum stain removal, it is best to do this in the evening, so it can soak overnight.
- 4). Sweep the cat litter into a dust pan after at least 12 hours. The stains will have been lifted from the pavement to the surface, and the cat litter will suck them up.
