In order to learn in Texas Hold'em when is the right time to use your bluff you must first study the behavior of your opponents in the game. It is important to understand the betting habits and tells of those at the table. For maximum effect and power a bluff must be well timed. Show your opponents that you don't make a bad habit of raising when you are holding a pair of deuces or holding back and calling with a full house. The real heavy players still in the game will either decide to fold or will counter with a call. The weak players marked as "maniacs" will get enthralled with the size of the pot. Pride and greed will not allow them to back out at this time. This is exactly what you are hoping for.

The ideal poker strategy that involves bluffing is really a semi-bluff. You may be holding a pair of low numbered cards that offer you a chance at winning the pot against the "maniac" bluffers waiting for all the other players to fold.

This is how to play poker to the max with a well executed bluff. With this poker strategy now in play your opponents will not know what to expect from you. This poker strategy will now also help you with your strong hands. Why, because now the possibility of you bluffing has been introduced to the minds of the other players.
