    Kirkwood Community College

    • Kirkwood Community College was founded in 1966 and is a semester-based educational institution providing a quality learning experience to more than 25,000 students. It offers four different electronic majors. Kirkwood's electronics engineering technology program uses a combination of application and theories to teach student problem solving, testing, analyzing and operation of various electronic systems. Kirkwood is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

    Des Moines Area Community College

    • Des Moines Area Community College has more than 100 different degree programs and certifications; it offers three electronic concentrations. Interested electricians may choose to major in electronic systems, electronic construction or electronic robotics. Approximately 22,000 students are enrolled at DMACC, as of publication. It has a 45-year history and a successful semester-based curriculum.

    Iowa Central Community College

    • Iowa Central Community College is a two-year public educational institution; its electrical technologies program was designed by professional engineers and electricians. The first year of learning revolves around educating students on the essential fundamental of electronics and the electronics' industry. During the summer you participate in a hands-on internship relevant to your career field. Your second year is spent learning more complex electronic theories as well as knowledge on installing and repairing industry automatic systems.

    Indian Hills Community College

    • Indian Hills Community College has two majors for aspiring electricians: electronic technician, which awards a diploma after graduation of three terms; and electronic engineering technology that awards an associate of applied acience after seven terms. Each class has a comprehensive accredited course curriculum. Indian Hill Community college was established in 1966 as Merged Area XV Community College and changed its name in 1970 to Indian Hill.
