FAA Air Travel Restrictions
- This category includes any sharp or bladed item. The following items are allowed in checked luggage but not in carry-on luggage: box cutters, ice axes or picks, knives, meat cleavers, razor blades, sabers, scissors and swords of any kind.
- Baseball bats, bows and arrows, golf clubs, hockey and lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles and spear guns are prohibited in the aircraft cabin but may be packed in checked luggage.
- All guns and firearms are strictly prohibited for passenger carry on but may be included in checked luggage with two exceptions. Flares and gun powder may not be checked or carried on board.
- Screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers and other tools less than seven inches in length are OK for carry on. All other tools may be included in checked luggage.
- No martial arts gear of any kind may be carried in the passenger cabin but may be in checked luggage.
- Chemicals, explosives and flammable materials of any kind are strictly prohibited as checked luggage or carry-on items.
