Exercise is a difficult habit for most people to start and stick with.
There is quite a bit of contradictory information about exercise that you should not believe.
Learn what these four exercise myths are so that you won't ruin your routine.
Myth: Sweat means that you are exercising hard.
While most people tend to sweat while exercising, there are some that do not sweat that much.
Some also sweat when not working that hard at all.
The best indicator of whether you are working hard or not is to monitor your heart rate.
If you have a higher percentage of your maximum heart rate, that means you are working harder on the exercise.
Sweat doesn't mean anything.
Myth: Don't eat before working out.
While it's commonly said that you should not eat so that you can burn fat, it doesn't mean that you can't eat before a workout.
You will burn a certain amount of calories doing that workout regardless if you eat before it or not.
It's not going to effect the fat and calories that you burn.
For some, eating before a workout is good because it prevents feeling light-headed and gives the fuel need to get through the routine.
Myth: Exercise turns fat into muscle.
At no point in time does your fat actually turn into muscle.
Exercise helps you burn fat and helps you build muscle.
These two are separate processes completely.
Myth: If you want to slim the stomach, do more ab workouts.
You can't target an area and lose fat around it.
If you do ab workouts, your abs will become stronger and more toned, but if you still have fat covering them, you won't even notice.
There is no way to target which part of the body you want to lose fat.
It happens all over the body and is different from person to person.
Continue to burn fat and eventually you will get the results you are wanting.
