Insomnia - The Importance of a Regular Sleep Schedule

Many people suffer from an inability to sleep properly.
This affects many different aspects of their lives, their health, their happiness, their level of concentration, and many other things.
But could it be that by merely being more regular with our sleep schedules we can actually sleep much better? For years when I was younger, I did what a lot of people did, and got up at a different time at weekends.
During the week I would go to bed early and then get up early, and then on Friday and Saturday nights I would stay up late, followed by lying in bed later on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The problem with doing this is that it keeps messing around with your sleep patterns.
A few years ago, I realized I was feeling tired whilst driving home from work.
I couldn't concentrate on the road properly.
I did a bit of research into sleep, and read about the importance of going to bed and getting up at the same time every day, even at weekends.
I decided to try this, and within about two weeks I began to feel amazing.
I found it much easier to get up in the morning for work, and yet I also found I had more time during the day at weekends.
But best of all, I felt happier, more awake, and just generally much better than I had done in a very long time.
After that, I started to realize that most people get it totally wrong when they don't get enough sleep during the working week.
