Lights

• Hang strings of lights all over your house for an easy and immediate sparkle. Spell out your children's names or make Christmas tree or star shapes on their walls using strings of mini lights. Wrap the lights around your stair banisters or drape them around the fireplace mantel, over the windows and around doorways or arches. Use any crystal chandeliers you have to add extra shine and sparkle to every room during the holiday season. Candles will also add a sparkle, though you'll only be able to use them when you're in the room unless you use LED candles. Use sparkly, glitter-covered candles or add glittery designs on clear candle holders for extra sparkle.
  
  

Ornaments

• Hang ornaments anywhere in your home using glittery ribbon, as they don't have to be confined to the Christmas tree alone. Create your own ornaments using paper, plain bulbs or any other materials and glitter. Glitter pens allow you to make specific designs or spell out words on the ornaments with detailed precision. Make glittery snowflakes, snowmen, poinsettia or other Christmas shapes. Purchase sparkly ornaments made with glitter, shiny beads or metallic colors if you'd rather not make your own. Fill bowls, vases or other objects with the ornaments as well as hanging them.
  
  

Tinsel

• Drape shiny tinsel around your picture frames, mantel, windows, doors or around the banisters. Forgo lights on your tree, or add tinsel to the tree which will reflect the lights and sparkle even more. Tinsel can accentuate your Christmas wreaths or frame other decorations, for instance as a border around your miniature village or Christmas train set. Add some Christmas sparkle to your bedroom by wrapping the tinsel around your headboard or tape the tinsel to your bathroom mirror in a star or tree shape. Using tinsel in unexpected places will make it stand out even more.
  
  

Table Decor

• Dress up your table with sparkly Christmas decor. Use a tablecloth with glittery shapes that complement the rest of your decor. For example, a light blue tablecloth with silver and white snowflakes work for a blue, silver and white theme, while a red cloth with gold stars or poinsettias work better for a red and gold or red and green color scheme. Plain, white dishes can shine with folded linen napkins sporting shiny napkin rings. Add stemware with sparkly stemware rings. Complete your table decor with a sparkly centerpiece, such as a shiny silver candelabra with glittery candles or a glass bowl or vase holding glittery balls. Use glass ornaments or Styrofoam balls dipped in glue and glitter. Add additional glitter or confetti around the table if you feel it needs more sparkle.
